The membership portfolio exists just for you, yes you! Our membership. Whether you are a long-time member of the Durham Highlands Chapter (DHC), a new member or a potential member just checking out what DHC can offer we are here for you.
Our membership team is a hard-working dedicated group of volunteers who give their personal time and energy to make DHC a place where absolutely everyone at every stage in their journey is welcome. We believe deeply in the value of community and connection and know that together we can do incredible things.

One of the most visible outputs of the Membership team is our monthly chapter meeting, tagged the PM BUZZ. Our team plans these events, securing locations, bringing in engaging speakers, arranging food and drinks and making time for a little fun & games and prizes. We have continued to be focused on providing a Hybrid event that encourages our membership to come out and join us in person but also remains inclusive by providing a virtual connection for our members that live at the further reaches of our region or have limitations that make joining in-person challenging. The challenges of running a hybrid event are many, especially when securing locations who have different acoustics or layouts month over month but our team is as adaptable as they are dedicated, always finding a way! We really love to connect with members and hear about what interests them and what will bring them value from their membership and then we work to bring you those things!
In the early half of our 2024/2025 operation year we took a deep dive into our membership and launched our #DHCPROUD initiative. Engaging our very own members to come out and speak as the featured presenters at our PM Buzz and share their unique experiences and knowledge with us. We know that the Durham Highlands Chapter is home to a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we couldn’t be prouder to be here with you. Collectively we represent so many different industries and roles within Durham Region and we find immense value in learning from each other, engaging in discussions about hot topics and exploring what’s new together. Watching this world grow and leading the projects responsible for that change.
Looking forward to the rest of this operational year we are excited to bring in some guests who will talk to us about the new PMO Practice Guide, provide insights into the value of the PMI-CP for Construction Professionals and so much more! I'm excited for what the second half of our year has in store, and I really hope we see you out at an event. We are here to help connect you with the events and services that we hope will help you bloom in this absolutely amazing career we call project management, in all its permutations.
